Local mítico a escasos pasos del centro neurálgico: la grand place. El mejor lugar para acercarse a la gastronomía belga sin dejarse un riñón. En el rango de los 25€ por persona probamos sus famosos mejillones, el vol au vent y sus crujientes frituras entre otros. Eso sí, es muy recomendable reservar.

We stopped here following a recommendation from our hotel ( we're travelling as a large group). We were a group of 14 and were able to get a reservation a few hours before dinner. The food was great while the service was acceptable. The restaurant itself looks good. One week later - the last day of our trip - my parents stopped for lunch and liked it. So my wife and I arrived at 4:45pm for an early dinner. The restaurant was at 10% capacity. I'm a big guy and we had quite a few bags so we sat at a table for 4 though we were 2: it was right next to the kitchen. The floor manager came out and told us we had to move as we were only 2 people - the restaurant's 2nd floor was completely empty and the ground floor had about 8 customers. The other table immeditaley proved to be too small. We asked the waiter if we could return to the table for 4 as we were uncomfortable. The waiter asked the floor manager if we could have the table and the floor manager explained to us that we couldn't because he might have a group of 4 come in and he'd have no room for them because he gave us the table. We stood up and offered him our table so that he he would be able to accomodate the future guests. We walked 280 meters to Brasserie Auguste and had an excellent meal, with excellent service at a better price. We walked by Chez Léon after our meal and it was at 30% capacity and the top floor looked empty from outside. Bad management.

The mussels bucket to me (a Vietnamese) was not that good as I expected. However the lobster, stew beef and the cheese mussels were really nice. They won’t bring complimentary bread unless you ask them.

Klimatyczne miejsce do spróbowania belgijskiej kuchni. Stoliki są rozmieszczone na zewnątrz i wewnątrz w kilku mniejszych salach na parterze i na piętrze - w efekcie jest kameralnie i przytulnie. Wśród dań klasyki belgijskie; m. in. moule w różnych wariantach i carbonada. Niestety cola smakowała tak, jakby była wymieszana z wodą.

Today our server was Jimmy.I visited this restaurant for dinner two days in a row. Yesterday’s service was excellent—friendly and attentive—which is why I came back.Today’s experience was very different. When I asked for grated cheese for my pasta, because he didn’t give me, Jimmy raised both of his hands and responded in a way that implied, ‘Can’t you see I’m serving food right now?’ It felt dismissive and rude. Later, when our next dish arrived, I asked if I could have two extra plates. His response was, “I have two hands.”I’m honestly wondering when I was supposed to ask. I have never had a server respond like that to such a simple request at any restaurant.After that, he never checked on my table again, and I felt uncomfortable throughout the meal.The most disappointing part happened when we were paying. Jimmy suddenly said, “Welcome to Belgium.” I told him that I had actually enjoyed the restaurant so much that I came back two days in a row. I thought I was ending the experience on a positive note.Instead, he immediately turned the payment terminal toward me with tip options and encouraged me to leave a tip. I couldn’t help but wonder if the sudden friendliness at the end was only because he expected one.This experience was very disappointing compared to yesterday. I understand that everyone can have an off day, but I hope future service can be more friendly and consistent.

Have been there many times and their mussels are consistently amazing - recently also tried the grilled sole, which was also very nice. The inside has a lovely design and the staff is always friendly and polite despite having to run around, as the place is always busy.
